Access belongs in every story
Accessibility statement
Willy the Wheel is rooted in lived experience of disability. We want the website to be usable by disabled people, older people and visitors using assistive technologies—not merely to display an accessibility badge.
Last reviewed and updated: 12 August 2026
Standards and current approach
This website is designed and reviewed against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG 2.2 is backward-compatible with WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.0. The work also takes account of Israeli Standard 5568 and the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments to Service) Regulations, 2013, as relevant to an online information and book website.
Accessibility is an ongoing process. Automated checks are paired with manual review because automated tools cannot determine every barrier.
Accessibility adjustments made
- A skip link and consistent page landmarks for keyboard and screen-reader navigation.
- Visible, high-contrast keyboard focus and logical focus order.
- Semantic headings, lists, navigation labels, breadcrumbs and live status text.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology.
- Color contrast reviewed to meet Level AA for normal text and controls.
- Responsive reflow, browser zoom support and touch targets suitable for mobile use.
- Reduced-motion support for visitors who request it in their device settings.
- Clear notification when a link opens Amazon, YouTube or Facebook in a new tab.
How the site was checked
The current release received a source-code and rendered-page audit, automated structural checks, contrast review, keyboard-only navigation, focus-order review, zoom and narrow-screen reflow checks. The main routes were also checked for a unique title, one main heading, one main landmark, image alternatives and valid structured data.
The site is intended to work with current versions of major browsers and the assistive technologies supported by those browsers. If your combination behaves differently, please report it so the barrier can be reproduced and corrected.
Third-party services and known limitations
Book purchases and some follow-up content open on Amazon, YouTube or Facebook. Those services are operated by third parties and are not controlled by Willy the Wheel. Their accessibility can change independently. There are currently no embedded third-party videos, payment forms or advertising trackers on this website.
The website is an online information service and does not list a public-facing reception location. If an in-person service location is introduced, its physical accessibility arrangements will be published.
